Cancerous Lung Tumour Encounter

Wheeze. Constantly coughing, even blood. I finally went to the emergency room of our hospital. The nurse told me that I just had to go see my own doctor. I replied that my doctor had retired and there was a 2 year waiting list for a new doctor in Muskoka. Being a Christian, I asked the Lord to help me. Wow, then things started to pick up speed. 3 doctors, one for the look and one for the scan on my chest and another to get me admitted.

A tumor was discovered. High blood pressure, low thyroid and low magnesium, low potassium made me take multiple medications. Then an ambulance trip with a nurse to New Market to have a bronchoscopy done by Dr Toth which also stopped the bleeding. $240. later for the ambulance ride and I was back in Muskoka in bed with extra medication for an allergic reaction to rubber used on me at New Market Hospital. Prednazone was the prescription for 10 days that caused the thrush so another majic pill to fix it.

I was in a dilemma which was overcome by my precious daughter-in-law and my dear husband. I really needed a family doctor so they went to plead and persuade Dr Liao in Bracebridge for me.

This happened in the week of December 13-21. After phone calls and further doctor’s appointments with Dr. Liao, I had to return to New Market for diagnosis on December 30, 2015. A rare tumor with cancer (I can’t sir) was discovered in my right lung obstructing a trachea causing a partially collapsed lung. I told Jesus. He said “Wait”! Death was near, very near.

Numerous visits to several hospitals and specialists and surgeons in Barrie and Toronto followed. Ultimately, it was my decision. Do or die. I was hoping that Jesus would show up and show His healing power. I have attended a few faith healing meetings where the preacher had 3 bouts of cancer and the Lord healed him of 2 of them, but the third required surgery. I left knowing that the Lord had a surgeon for me.

Surgery was the only option as chemo and radiation had no power on this tumor which had grown into my trachea and was cutting off the air to my right lung so much that the upper lobe collapsed.

On April 14, 2016, this part of my right lung was removed along with a piece of my trachea that was holding the tumor on, along with some lymph nodes.

Everything was fine and Corey, Murv my husband and Casey and Marianne saw me through and after 3 months I am able to handle the pain. Many prayers from many sources have also been offered to me.

Jesus was there for me, as was my family, especially my favorite daughter-in-law Marianne and my son Casey. They called me every day after I got home, visited me often, and gave a lot of their time and attention. I called on Jesus several times because of my pain. I was also amazed by the quick responses from the many physicians involved in many countries of this old world. Different shades, languages and religions, but very much in tune with my fate.

As a Christian, I was very tempted to resign myself to my fate and leave this life through the cancer exit to enter a glorious place that I had heard of since childhood. I thought if God hadn’t healed me, who was I to expect the medical community to.

“Death was only a part of life” my husband always said. But since I was left choking 24 hours a day, I realized that if it was a rotten tooth, I would have it removed. A very special young doctor from Barrie didn’t hear from me and sent me to Toronto. The third surgeon we met at Toronto General Hospital was very convincing and completely convinced that he could do this procedure for me. So, Dr. Cypel, true to his word, succeeded.

It has now been 9 months since the surgery and several scans, x-rays and bronchoscopies to date. I am improving every week with my good husband who constantly supports me. The marriage works. Prayer is the key to getting through. The appreciation of the medical staff in place for the patients grows in us as a family.

It’s been a little over a year and a half since I left this evil tumor in the care of research. I haven’t heard of any discovery so far.

Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is a new blood test finding that I need to see a specialist for. One of my 7 sisters has the same condition. It is a need for more thyroxine but which must be monitored by said specialist. I hope this will increase my energy level. Update; April 2018 and a specialist says there is no accepted ‘standard’ help for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, but the thyroxine I am taking needs to be doubled gradually. By the stripes of Jesus I am healed definitely applies here. Amen. I have shed 15 pounds of fat so far. Hallelujah!

Jesus is healing me day by day and time is on my side again. I can trust him to take care of me until my last days here. The weight gain through it all has been a concern and as I heal I can focus on ridding that sweet body of the excess 77 pounds. I hope the fatty liver disease will be eliminated by the PAI diet that I am using. Update; October 2, 2018 My weight has lost another 10 lbs. and the number of Hashimotos dropped with prayers and medicine working together. My strength returned as I celebrated my 70th birthday with joy, grateful that our Lord Jesus had helped me to hold on. I’m breathing again at 80%. My blood pressure is almost normal.

We had a lot of stress over those few years with family deaths young and old, separations, church splits, a granddaughter working far north in Nunavit, a forest fire at the river French near many of our families, dry wells and illnesses among many of our children and grandchildren. We just keep clinging to Jesus and walking daily in faith believing for a great revival in Canada. If you are also suffering from similar things, take it one day at a time and be grateful that you are going through it together. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us all from them. Amen!
